What is the Best Bitcoin Dice Site and Game 2018?

I recommend playing at Betcoin. Betcoin’s provably-fair dice game has all the features you could wish for, while Betcoin is the biggest bitcoin-accepting gambling site.

You’ll find plenty of dice-games-only sites on the web, but I do my dice gaming at Betcoin. The reason why I choose Betcoin over sites like Prime Dice is that in the end, the bitcoin dice games are so similar that it doesn’t matter much which game you play. What’s more important is where you play.

I prefer to play at Betcoin. All the online dice games are almost exactly alike, so why not play at the best gambling site? I especially like that the site has all other forms of gambling available too. Instead of playing only dice, I can bet at the sportsbook and enjoy a slot spin or two at the best bitcoin casino.

Even if you only care about dice games, Betcoin is still well worth visiting. It’s a long-running site that has shown over the years its trustworthiness by paying out big wins to its lucky players.

One thing worth noting is that Betcoin’s minimum bet is 0.01 mBTC when you play the dice game. If you wish to play dice for tinier sums, then your best option is Prime Bet. Out of all the dice sites, Prime Bet has the smallest minimum bets, plus its faucet is handy for small-time gambling.

How to Play Bitcoin Dice?

Choose your bet and a number between 1 and 99. The game comes up with a result (“roll”) between 0 and 99.99. If the roll is higher than the number you chose, you win.

For the most part bitcoin dice games aren’t played with actual dice. Instead, each round the game comes up with a result between 0 and 99.99, and you bet on that result.

First, you choose how much to bet per roll. You can wager anything from a few satoshi to full bitcoins.

Next, you choose a number between 1 and 100 and if you’d like to roll over (which is the default setting) or under this number. The more difficult the result you’re aiming for, the higher your potential win. For example, rolling over 80 pays more than rolling over 20. The games show you exactly how much you’ll win if you succeed in your roll.

Finally, choose “roll.” The game comes up with the result, and you either win or lose.

Here’s an example:

    1. I choose to bet 0.01 BTC
    2. I choose “roll over 60”, the game shows I’ll get a 2.475x payout if I win
    3. I click on “roll” hoping to roll over 60
    4. I roll 64.99 and win
    5. I now have 0.02475 BTC

What is the best dice game strategy?

While there is no single best strategy, three oft-used strategies are martingale, paroli and betting for big wins.

Bitcoin dice games are a new invention, but the strategies used by their players are not. Martingale and paroli are still popular strategies, even though they were invented about 500 years ago.

In addition to the two classic strategies, I’ll show you my “big wins” strategy. It’s a modern take on dice game tactics and takes advantage of bitcoin dice game’s unique features and low house edges.

Martingale Dice Strategy

Martingale is the so-called “doubling up” strategy. You start by betting 1 unit. When you lose, you double your bet. When you win, you go back to betting 1 unit. The result of this strategy is that when you win, you win 1 unit.

In action it might look something like this: You bet 1 and lose. The strategy calls for doubling the bet after losing, so you bet 2 and lose. Doubling again, you bet 4 and lose. Doubling again 8 and win. Now go back to betting 1 again.

For this to work properly on a dice game, choose a bet with (as close as possible to) 50% odds of winning.

Paroli Strategy

If you think that Martingale is too boring of a strategy, then Paroli is for you. In paroli, you bet 1 unit. If you win, then double your bet. After three consecutive wins, you go back to betting 1 unit.

So, for example, You bet 1 and win. You bet 2 and win. You bet 4 and win. Time to cash in on your winnings and go back to betting 1 again.

So, as you can see, the paroli strategy is based on chasing bigger wins. Going for big wins makes it different from martingale, which always pays out the amount of your original bet (i.e., not much). Paroli also takes into account the common gamblers’ belief, that wins and losses come in hot and cold streaks.

The anonymity of Bitcoin dice games is something the old, centralized world can only dream about. You can choose whatever the betting strategy you decide, and no one can judge you for it. You are truly anonymous

My Tactics Tip: Chase Big Wins

My favorite dice game strategy is to chase big wins. It’s mathematically speaking the right thing to do, and it’s a whole lot more fun than playing for peanuts.

Here’s the optimum tactic for going big or going home.

Take your bankroll and divide into two equal halves. Now take one of the halves and divide it into 50 portions.

For example, if you started with 1 BTC you’d now have 0.5 BTC and 50 “portions” of 0.01 BTC.

Now it’s time to start gambling! Set your dice game’s odds so that you roll for almost the maximum win paid by the game. Set your wager as one small portion (in my example 0.01 BTC). Start betting and keep betting until you win (great – you just won a big pile of money) or lose all 50 portions.

If you lost all 50 bets, take the remaining half of your bankroll and put it ALL on a bet that pays double. If this big bet wins, you’re back to your starting point and can start chasing the big win again. If you lose … well, it’s gambling!

This strategy does many things right. It minimizes the house edge and gives you the best odds of winning. But more importantly, it’s fun! At least I enjoy using strategies and tactics that bring big wins instead of lame tiny wins. This strategy also has the advantage of being autoroll friendly: set your odds and wager, and you can leave the game on autoroll to bet the 50 small portions.

What is the house edge of dice games

You can expect the house edge of an average BTC dice game to be around 1%.

While the exact house edge differs from a site to site, bitcoin dice games tend to have a house edge of 1%. Sometimes you can find games with slightly lower house edges, for example, Megadice has a house edge of 0.9%. The smallest one is 999 Dice’s 0.1%.

Overall the house edge compares well to games found at bitcoin casinos

Here’s a quick comparison of house edges:

      • BTC dice game: 0.1% – 1%
      • Slot machines: 3 – 5%
      • Scratch cards: 10%+
      • One-zero roulette: 2.7%
      • Baccarat: 1.5%
      • Craps: 1.4%
      • Video poker: 1%
      • Blackjack: 1%

As you can see, Bitcoin dice games’ odds are good compared to any traditional casino and gambling games. And note that while you could reach a similar, low house edge by playing video poker or blackjack, it would require playing with perfect strategy in every situation. That’s easier said than done, whereas you don’t need to care about strategy with BTC dice anywhere near to the same extent.

Are There Dice Games With a Bitcoin Faucet?

Yes there are. One of the best ones is Prime Dice’s, which pays 150 satoshi every 60 seconds.

Faucets hands its website visitors free coins. This free money doesn’t come out of thin air; it’s dug from the pocket of the website’s owner. So, in essence, faucets are an inventive marketing method.

Bitcoin dice sites often have faucets. They are there to garner new customers, as testing out a dice site with free faucet money is a great way to get new players started.

As you might guess, faucets don’t pay out much. The sums themselves are hardly ever worth the effort, but if you happened to get a few satoshi to test a dice site, why not take it? You can gamble all the free bitcoin fractions you’ve earned in the hopes of turning it into something more.

Out of the major, trustworthy dice sites, I’d recommend Prime Dice. It has a faucet system that pays a bit (150 satoshis) whenever your account is empty. Simply click on “faucet” and Prime Dice adds 150 satoshis to your account. Prime Dice’s faucet isn’t for beginners only. If you bet enough, you’ll receive a boosted faucet as a thank you.

How Much Can I Win?

Most dice site’s limit the maximum win to 20-30 BTC.

Every dice site has a set maximum single-roll win that the site will pay out. This rule is in place simply to prevent the site from going bankrupt because of lucky players.

The maximum payout per roll depends on the site, but most big-time dice operators pay up to 20-30 bitcoins per roll. Typically pure dice sites pay out bigger wins than casinos that have a dice game, like FortuneJack. The biggest payouts I can think of are now in 2018 at Prime Dice, which states in its terms and conditions that it pays up to 30 bitcoins per roll.

FortuneJack used to have only 1BTC welcome bonus, but they’ve kicked it up five notches. They’ve improved their casino product as well, so it’s only natural they’re coming out with a bigger bonus, too.

What are provably fair games?

Most bitcoin dice games are provably fair. It means you can check that the game result was indeed random.

Each dice site employs a “provably fair” technique on its games a bit differently, but in a nutshell provable fairness means that you can check that the results are 100% random like they should be. The dice games’ results are created from two “seeds.” One of the seeds is generated by the dice game’s servers and one by your computer/mobile device. Together with a random number algorithm these two numbers and a third, non-random number (usually the number of the roll you’re about to make – like 6 for the sixth roll, etc.) create the results you see when you play the game.

The verifiably fair games let you change the seeds any time you like and to check that using certain seeds always leads to the same result. This way you can verify two things: that the results are indeed random and that neither you nor the dice site knew the result before the roll happened.

Being provably fair is essential when it comes to dice games. Most online gambling sites have acquired a gambling license and part of getting one is proving that the site’s games are random. Bitcoin dice game sites usually skip getting a gambling license and thus you could never be certain that the games are legit unless they were provably fair.

Can I use a script / bot to play dice?

Yes you can. While not every site is happy about bots or other user-generated scripts, some offer full API’s for your tinkering.

Bots that play automatically and other user-generated scripts are a hot topic that divides dice sites. The two biggest dice sites illustrate this difference of attitudes. Mega Dice (formerly Satoshi Dice) welcomes bots and has an API with full documentation available. Prime Dice doesn’t even mention bots on its site, although you can still use some of them to play at the site.

When it comes to bots and scripts not made by yourself, be careful. Bitcoin bots, especially dice playing ones, have been used for all kinds of scams. One common one is that criminals take a well-known dice bot, offer a free download for it and tinker with the bots code to add a virus or even something nastier to it.

We don’t recommend or link to any dice bots or scripts. The reason for this is safety. While some bots are very well known and widely used, we still don’t want to take any chances.

Can I play dice in LiteCoin / Ethereum / Monero / Dash / Zcash?

Yes you can. You need to play dice at one of the casinos that a) have a dice game and b) accept altcoin.

Finding an altcoin-accepting dice game is harder than you’d think. Gaming operators need to have a big stash of cryptocurrency for paying out their customers, and that’s not something that’s always easy to come by.

The best option for finding an altcoin-accepting dice game is to head out to one of the big casinos. The biggest cryptocurrency casinos have enough money for accepting more than just bitcoin.

For Ethereum and Litecoin dice games go to Betcoin.

Betcoin is the biggest cryptocurrency online gambling site there is and has an excellent dice game.

For Dash, Monero, Zcash and Dogecoin dice game go to Fortune Jack.

Fortune Jack is the biggest Dash, Monero, Zcash and Dogecoin-accepting gambling site. They have an excellent, provably fair dice game you can play in numerous alt-currencies. Lately privacy-focused coins Monero and Zcash have picked up steam, but people still love to get in the mix with Dash, too.
